Physical Education

Our courses are designed to equip students with essential skills and knowledge to make informed decisions about their health, lifestyle, and physical activities. All programs have been designed to meet the standards of the Australian Curriculum and the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

Programs

HPE is a compulsory subject for students in Years 7, 8, and 9, with classes running throughout the entire school year. In Year 10, HPE is compulsory for one semester. However, students who wish to continue their studies in this field can choose to take HPE for the entire year, especially if they plan to pursue related subjects in Senior School.

Students in Years 11 (Stage 1) and 12 (Stage 2) have the opportunity to select from a wide range of subjects designed to cater to individual student interests. These include:

  • Physical Education (Stage 1 and 2)
  • Health and Wellbeing (Stage 1 and 2)
  • Outdoor Education (Stage 1 and 2)
  • Sport, Health, and Physical Activity (Integrated Learning - Stage 1 and 2)

Students can use these senior subjects to help gain tertiary entrance to University, TAFE or to follow career paths including:

  • Stage 2 Integrated Learning/Health and Wellbeing (Year 11 and 12 students)
  • Stage 1 Integrated Learning (Year 10 students)
  • Aboriginal Careers Exploration (ACE) program (Year 10 students
