Physical Education

Our courses aim to provide students with the skills and knowledge to make informed decisions about their health, lifestyle and physical activities. All programs have been designed to meet Australian Curriculum standards.

Programs

Health and Physical Education is compulsory in Year 7, 8 and 9 (Full Year) and compulsory in Year 10 (One Semester). Students can also choose a second Semester of Year 10 HPE. In Year 11/12 students can choose from a variety of courses which are designed to cater for individual interests. These include:

  • Physical Education (Stage 1 and 2)
  • Health (Stage 1 and 2)
  • Sports Studies (Integrated Learning – Stage 2)
  • Certificate III in Sport and Recreation (Stage 1 and 2)
  • Power Cup (Indigenous students only – Stage 1)
  • SAASTA Shield (Indigenous students only – Stage 1)
  • SAASTA Integrated Learning (Indigenous students only – Stage 2)

Students can use these senior subjects to help gain tertiary entrance to University, TAFE or to follow career paths including:

  • Teaching
  • Sports Science
  • Health Science
  • Sport/Event Management
  • Fitness Instructor
  • Personal Trainer
  • Nutritionist/Dietician
  • Armed Services
  • Child Care
  • Nursing
  • Coaching
  • Physiotherapist
  • Occupational Therapist
  • Chiropractor
