Students at Salisbury High SWD are provided with the opportunity to complete a work experience program, which aims to encourage personal growth and independence.

We have positive working relationship with Bedford Industries. Through this experience our students further develop their pathway to independence through workplace learning, and develop physical skills, communication skills, and confidence.

Each week we create a journal to reflect on the day of work and discuss skills developed, identify achievements, strengths, areas for improvement and preferences within the workplace. Our students are lucky enough to have this experience, which gives them an opportunity to gain an insight into real life working conditions. Many of our students have proven themselves to be professional and responsible enough to obtain regular paid work after their placements.
