Year 8 students meet in the School Gymnasium where they are allocated to their Care groups and participate in orientation activities throughout the day. They spend the morning with their Care Teacher. Year 12 students also participate in Senior School Orientation. Please note that school finishes at 3:10pm. Year 9, 10 and 11 students return to school on the following day.

Concerns/Issues

If you have any concerns or issues about your child please contact their Care Teacher in the first instance or the Senior Leader for Middle School.

Diaries

Diaries are a good way to communicate with Care Teachers. Please use the diary to advise the school of absences, appointments, illness etc.

Newsletter

The School newsletter is published twice a term and is available on our web site.

Sick Room

If your child feels unwell they should report to the Front Office. If the problem is serious, Parents/Caregivers are contacted. Due to Department for Education and Child Development policy we are not able to issue paracetamol to any student. Students may carry and administer their own. Please ensure that the school has names and phone numbers for emergency contacts.

Extreme Hot Weather Policy —Third Consecutive day over 36 degrees.

When the temperature reaches 36° on the Bureau of Meteorology - Edinburgh Observation website http://www.bom.gov.au/sa/observations/saall.shtml?ref=hdr 6 sirens will blast to advise students to go indoors as follows during recess and lunch.
Yr 8/9 - Gym, Yr 10/11 - Resource Centre, Yr 12 - Senior School, SWD students - SWD

As an air-conditioned school the presentation of the curriculum will continue unless an emergency is declared. However on the 3rd consecutive school day of temperatures reaching 36° or above families can opt to keep students in years 8-10 home for the day.  Year 11 & 12 students are expected to attend each day.

On days when the expected temperature is forecast to be 40° or over families can opt to keep students home for the day.

To ensure the safety of students traveling to and from school, there is no early dismissal.
